2017-18 RAAA Wrestling Information
Rockford Youth Wrestling is open to students of any skill level Pre K (4 years old) through 6th grade.
Practice A - $75.00 (less than $2.50/session)
Practice AB - $100.00 (approx. $3.25/session)
We are offering a $10 discount to new wrestlers in 3-6th grade who were registered in any 2017 RAAA sport)
Goals of RAAA youth wrestling include: teaching the fundamentals of wrestling, promoting physical and mental strength, good sportsmanship, and individual as well as team competition.
Our intent is to create an opportunity for both boys and girls to develop their skills as wrestlers and student athletes. There will be opportunities during the season for wrestlers to exhibit their developing skills against wrestlers from surrounding communities, including optional tournaments and possible team dual meets for 3rd-6th grade students.
Practices are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from Nov. 28, 2017 to March 1, 2018 in the Rockford High School Wrestling Room.
All wrestlers are welcome to come to Practice A, Practice AB is designed for kids interested in extra mat time to help enhance and develop their wrestling skills.
Practice A: 6:15-7:00 p.m.
Practice AB: 6:15-8:00 p.m.
No practice: Dec. 26 and 28
*There may be extended practice dates for wrestlers interested in advancing to Qualifier and State Tournaments for an additional fee.
Wear wrestling shoes, shorts, a t-shirt and protective head gear (recommended during practice. All registered wrestlers will receive a free registration to the Rockford Youth Wrestling Tournament and free t-shirt.

Note to Football players:
Wrestling is an excellent winter sport for conditioning, improving stamina and coordination. For your young athlete interested in youth football, wrestling is an excellent complementary sport and is a perfect off-season activity to hone those football skills.
